Reports indicate that Brighton & Hove Albion are now more optimistic about retaining manager Roberto De Zerbi beyond the current campaign.
This is a change from last month, when it was said the club were "increasingly fearful" of losing the Italian coach. De Zerbi had voiced frustrations over a lack of investment.
Clubs such as Liverpool, Barcelona and Bayern Munich were linked with De Zerbi's services. However, sources claim none have made a serious move so far.
Brighton are now looking to tie De Zerbi down to a new contract, with his current deal running until 2026. Negotiations have been paused for De Zerbi to speak to owner Tony Bloom.

The Italian said he remains focused on finishing the season strongly, guiding Brighton towards Europe. De Zerbi insists he has "not decided" to depart yet and has no issues with the club's hierarchy.
Providing Brighton can guarantee further funds to improve the squad, it seems De Zerbi could be persuaded to extend his stay on the south coast.
